After thinking long and hard about this, I've decided to go with the option.
Things happen, and I want to make sure everyone has their images forever. I am now going to sell high resolution CDs/DVDs with all of the edits from your session. Even though my clients prefer to order from me because my prints are good quality, they may want to order them say, a year or more from now. People lose things, damage things, etc. Even I could have issues keeping old files from sessions from way-back-when. If I give my clients the option to buy the print release, they will be able to always print and view their images.
How much do I charge? Another question I've been trying to answer. Some photographers charge up to $600 for print releases, but I dont feel comfortable with that. Not to downplay my work, but $600 is too much for 20-30 files on a CD.
I've decided to start out selling my "normal " session CDs for $75, and the weddings for $100 because I do so many that I like to put them on 2 discs, so that it doesn't take an hour for them to upload on your computer!
Welcome to my blog
You'll read about my work, my clients and experiences, and my life. I believe people come to me because they love what I do and because of that, my business has grown steadily by word of mouth for the past few years. My clients are wonderful, my friends are amazing, and my work is my pride. Follow me, chat with me, and take a gander at my photography :)

A New Year!
I have my own apartment now with my boyfriend.
I do NOT have school anymore.
I have a brand new Canon 60D.
And I've made so much progress in the last few weeks!
Perhaps the best thing thats happened so far in 2011 is meeting Jessica Hicks. (J.Hicks Photography- Check her out !!! ) She really inspired me to get myself together, business wise. Re-starting this "blog thing" was one of her suggestions and I'm going with it! Another suggestion- give myself more credit ( and better pay! )
This is by far going to be the most challenging, being as I am not good at asking for more money. I find it awkward enough to ask for my session fees after the photo shoot, much less charge more money for them. But I have to realize that I cannot give everyone "the discount". I need to stick with the prices I make and be strict with it. Let's face it- I have a 4 year degree in Fine Art photography and I have to start making a career for myself! That means updating my equipment more often, getting on board with public advertising, making a website, etc. Not only getting more bang for my buck, but also giving my clients the best art I have to give. Yes, art. I spend way too much time on these sessions to just call them photographs. I am creating memorable art, something they'll hopefully have with them always to keep and to share.
For updates on my prices, go to www.wix.com/emageryphotos/emilyderoche. They haven't changed drastically, but they have changed.
So far in 2011 I have at least on session a month for 10 out of 12 months AND 2 weddings !
Thank you to everyone who has supported me :)
Here are a few samples of what I've been up to lately ! Also to Jessica- I promise I will start labeling my work after this post! Haha
